Resting in His word

Psalm 84:1-4 hold such a sweet picture and beautiful truths for us moms.  It says. " How amiable are they tabernacles, O Lord of hosts!  My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of the Lord; my heart and my flesh crieth out for the living God.  Yes, the sparrow hath found a house and the swallow, a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, even thine altars, O Lord of hosts, my King, and my God.  Blessed are they that dwell in thy house: they will be still praising thee."
Am I still?  Am I praising thee?  Have I sought your courts, Lord, as a place to rest both for myself and for my children?

1 Chronicles 16:8  leaves me with an important reminder as to what I need to be doing, in my own home.    It says, "Give thanks unto the Lord, call upon His name, make known His deeds among the people. "
As a child of God, I am commanded to give thanks to Him.  All throughout scripture, we can read time and time again of our need of praising Him... HE is worthy!!!!
What about, as a mother, am I giving thanks unto my Lord so my children hear?  Do they know that I am thankful for His sovereignty?  Do they know that He is in control because of what they see in my responses to life?  I am challenged by God's word every day to live in a way that honors my Lord.  May I remember to give Him thanks.... make His deeds known to my children and honor Him.
